Who Can Escape God's Judgment? ( Romans 2:1-3 )

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

Romans 2:1-3

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With God there is no respect of person( Romans 2:11 ). Sin is sin. As verse the apostle Paul is talking about in verse one is how can someone judge someone who is sinning if in fact they are sinning as well. This what the pharisees were doing, sure they may not have been going out murdering people or committing huge sins, but as Jesus revealed they were guilty of more sin than the others. The biggest sin was they had abandoned their first love and you could say they had broken their first commandment through legalism. Amazing how some people think just because what they do isn't as bad that it's alright. This is essentially the question the apostle Paul write in verse three asking do you think you who judges escape God's judgment? We as believers know this answer and it is no. No one is beyond God's judgment. In fact the bible is very clear in Hebrews where it says that all men die once and then on to judgment( Hebrews 9:27 ). To those of us who have trust Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior we have eternity to look forward to. To those who don't, they have hell the second death to look forward to.

Now as a Christian the best advice I can give is ultimately we are not to judge in the sense of an ultimate judge. We can't say we know where there heart is with God,but instead direct them to Him. Show them this in how we live and through His Word. Remember a living testimony speaks volumes. To me the best example we have in scripture is of Stephen the first Christian martyr. I believe his life had an impact on the apostle Paul. Remember little is much with God in it. One thing I've found so awesome is He doesn't need us,but He desires to use us.

So friends I encourage you to reach out to someone who doesn't know Jesus Chris as Lord and Savior. Share the good news, remember this could make the difference where they spend eternity. Sure the choice is theirs, but how could not want to tell them. You would run in a burning building to rescue someone right? Don't be afraid of them being offended or mad. Instead care more about their eternity.

For anyone reading this tonight who has not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior I invite you to do so. Ask Him into your heart and admit your a sinner in need of His forgiveness. Be real with Him and cast all your worries, doubts, and fears at His feet, the feet of mercy for He cares for you( 1 Peter 5:7 ). Repent of your ways, your sins and find your identity in Jesus Christ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ). Don't let your past or not being perfect get in the way( Psalm 103:12, Romans 3:23 ). Instead cast yourself upon His mercy( Luke 18:13 ). Remember He is waiting on you with arms wide open( John 3:16 ). In those arms you will find love( John 15:13 ), mercy( Romans 5:6-8 ), forgiveness( 1 John 1:9 ), and a grace that is sufficient( 2 Corinthians 12:9 ). Will you choose Him? Will you let Him set you free from the bonds of sin( John 8:36 ) ? I encourage you to do so. This is the single greatest choice you will ever make. It is a matter of life and death, life and death eternal( John 3:18 ). Don't wait, make the choice tonight( Matthew 24:36 ) !

God bless,
John W. Whybrew III <><
