Are You Walking The Walk You Talk About?(1 Corinthians 9:14)

Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

1 Corinthians 9:14

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ever heard the saying you talk the talk, now can you walk the walk. This is exactly what this verse is saying if you preach the gospel, then you should live what you speak. Friends as Christians we are all called to preach the gospel, in other words proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ( Mark 16:15 ). I know when people hear the word preach they immediately think of the pastor on sunday morning, but friends as Christians we should be sharing the gospel with all who will listen. Friends I'm thankful that someone was willing to share the good news with me.Truly this friend of mine who shared the gospel was not just a hearer, but a doer of the Word as well( James 1:22 ).

I know some may say well I don't know how. Friends take it like this when you get a good grade on a test do you keep that to yourself or do you tell all who will listen? The same goes for the gospel. It is full of wonderful news. It talks about our redemption through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Now I know you may come across those who mock you or plainly don't listen. Friends as sad as this may sound the bible also tells of times and people such as this. In the last days people will mock you and even rejected the gospel ( 2 Peter 3:3, 2 Timothy 3:1-5 ).

Friends a huge problem for why people don't choose Christ is sadly that there are those claiming to be Christians, but their lives don't reflect what their lips are saying. Be different( 1 Peter 2:9 ), be real with your relationship to Christ. Don't just talk about Him, but live a life according to the gospel. Friends a living testimony is a powerful thing. Think about the first Christian martyr Stephen, think how his living testimony planted a seed in the life of Saul who later became Paul. I truly believe him living his faith even unto death touched the Saul(Paul).

For anyone reading this tonight who has not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and personal savior I invite you to do so. Ask Him into your heart and admit your a sinner in need of His forgiveness. Be real with Him and cast all your worries, doubts, and fears at His feet, the feet of mercy( 1 Peter 5:7 ). Repent of your old ways and instead find your identity in Jesus Christ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ). Don't let your past or not being perfect get in the way( Psalm 103:12, Romans 3:23 ). He is patiently waiting on you with arms wide open( John 3:16 ). In those arms you will find love( John 15:13 ), mercy( Romans 5:6-8 ), forgiveness( 1 John 1:9 ), and a grace that is sufficient( 2 Corinthians 12:9 ). Will you choose Him? Will you let Him set you free from the bonds of sin( John 8:36 )? I encourage you to do so. This is the single greatest choice you will make. It is a matter of life and death( John 3:18 ). Don't wait, make the choice tonight( Matthew 24:36 )!

God bless,
John W. Whybrew III <><
